Municipality

Mora is 68 miles far from Lisbon, 35 from évora, 13 from Montargil and about 62 mils far from Badajoz.
Its 170 square miles with 750000acres of forest area, place it as the Municipality with greater forest density south the Tagus, and the fifth in the country.
Its forest is mainly composed by cork-tree and holm-oak plantations except for the National Forest of Cabeção, one of the biggest pine-grove forests in the Alentejo.
The Municipality is located in the hydrographical basin of the Tagus with an irrigation area of about 4000acres.
The main waterlines are the ones from the brook of Raia, Têra and Divor, which cross the Municipality from the east to the west.
The population is grouped into four towns, which name the parishes, and in some areas, of a more disperse population, as Malarranha, Foros de Mora and Montes Novos, these last in the surrounding area of Mora.
Landscape
It’s a land of non-accentuated elevations with cork-tree and holm-oak, olive-tree plantations, pine grove and irrigation areas near the main water lines brooks of Raia and Divor.
Houses: traditional architecture from the Alentejo, in some cases with influences from the Ribatejo.
